Tara Brooks Sorrell Clayton of Roxboro, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Sunday August 2nd 2026 at Duke Hospital at the age of 70. She was born in Durham, North Carolina on March 12th 1956 to the late Raymond Atlas Sorrell Jr. and Tillie Brooks Sorrell, she was preceded in death by her sister Lisa Jane Sorrell Frazier and her ex husband Timothy Nick Clayton.

Tara graduated Northern High School, and worked a long list of jobs while raising her children, and retired after her years of caring for others as a CNA.

She was a very caring and spiritual soul with many interests and a curiosity that inspired her to learn. She was a skilled herbalist, guitarist, and artist, and was known to show her love by sharing her hand-crafted beadwork bracelets to those she connected with while she was out and about.

She is survived by her children Heather Snow Clayton (Tim Talton), Timothy Shaun Clayton (Audra Neunkirchner), Wayah Rose Clayton, Eric Darien Clayton, her neices Lana Kay Frazier (Jeff Smith) and Kelly Jane Frazier, and her granddaughter Ariella Khaleesi Colombo.
